Wahmoji is a fun, fast, and free kaomoji reference tool that lets you browse, search, and copy Japanese text emoticons with a single click.

How It Works

Wahmoji reads kaomoji from markdown files at build time. Each category is a single .md file with frontmatter and a list of kaomoji entries. This means:

1. Adding new kaomoji is as simple as editing a text file
2. No database needed — everything is static and fast
3. Community-friendly — anyone can contribute via pull request

The Name

Wah + moji = Wahmoji! A playful take on "kaomoji" (顔文字, literally "face characters"), with a little "wah!" of excitement.
